Welcome

It’s taken us a while, but here we are with the new Journal of Baptist Theology in Context.

A free, open-access, peer-review journal.

This Journal has emerged from Theology Live, a one-day conference that has been running for the last 3 years, showcasing Baptists engaged in theological research.

We wanted somewhere the papers from these days could be shared. We wanted to provide a space for Baptist pastor-theologians to find their way into academic publishing in a supportive context. We wanted to show that British Baptists are doing theology.

This new Journal of Baptist Theology in Context will be for Baptists engaged in theological disciplines — doctrine, ethics, bible, history, practice — to offer their work to the wider Baptist constituency and to a general audience of those who work or study in the world of theology. Most of the articles will be written by those who are pastor-theologians and many of the articles will arise out of their context and so the title of the Journal points to this.

The Journal is currently edited by Andy Goodliff, Sally Nelson, Stephen Holmes and Simon Woodman.

We have an editorial board that represents each of the British Baptist Colleges and others. Currently they are:
